Mallorca is one of the most spectacular destinations in the Mediterranean for paddle surfing. With over 550 km of coastline, crystal-clear coves and more than 300 sunny days a year, the island offers ideal conditions for SUP all year round.
Why Mallorca Is Perfect for Paddle Surfing
The Mediterranean has more moderate waves than the Atlantic, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced paddlers. The warm waters between May and October allow you to enjoy paddle surfing in complete comfort. The rich marine life — with posidonia seagrass, octopus and colourful fish — makes every stroke a visual experience.
The Best SUP Spots in Mallorca
Cala Mondragó (Santanyí): Part of the Mondragó Natural Park, this turquoise cove is ideal for beginners. Shallow, calm waters make it perfect for learning technique without worries.
Puerto de Alcúdia: Mallorca’s largest bay offers kilometres of protected waters with minimal wind. Great for long SUP routes and paddling with kids.
Santa Ponsa: In the southwest, it combines calm waters with easy access. From here you can explore several nearby coves by SUP, creating interesting half-day routes.
Cala Ratjada: In the northeast, crystal-clear waters and nearby islets to circumnavigate. The Punta de N’Amer natural park is accessible from here by board.
