Wingfoiling has completely changed the way we enjoy wind on the water. It combines the freedom of windsurfing with the sensation of flying on a foil — and Mallorca offers exceptional conditions: Embat sea breeze almost every afternoon and flat water in the Bay of Palma.

At El Niño Surf Center in Can Pastilla we rent full kits updated every season and train new riders from zero to full independence.

Important: wingfoil rental is reserved for riders who are independent on the water. If you don’t have that level yet, take one of our courses first.

Included: full kit (wing, board, foil, mast, helmet and vest), wetsuit, lockers and showers. Certified instructors trained specifically in wingfoil. We recommend a minimum of 6 hours for basic independence.

How we teach

Wingfoil has a specific learning curve. Our methodology is progressive and always the same:

Handling the wing on land: understand the wind window, body positions and safe control.

Without foil: on a large, high-volume board to feel the wing’s propulsion.

Foil introduction: lift sensation, balance control.

Take-off and controlled flight: pumping technique, transitions, sailing tack to tack.

Most students get stable flight within 6-10 hours. We work in small groups (max 3) to guarantee personal attention.

Repair and maintenance

Wingfoil involves expensive, technical gear. Our Can Pastilla workshop offers specialist service:

Wing patching and stitching (bladder and skin).

Foil board repair (ding repair, mast track reinforcement).

Mast and fuselage maintenance: bolt checks, alignment, anti-corrosion treatment.

Bladder replacement and valves on damaged wings.

Frequently asked questions about wingfoil in Mallorca

How many hours of lessons do I need to be independent?

Typically 6-10 hours. Students with a surf or windsurf background move faster, others need a bit more. We work at your pace and don’t move on until each step is solid.

What level is required to rent gear?

You should be able to launch, sail tack to tack, do basic transitions and return to the launch point. If you’re unsure, we offer a 1-hour evaluation session at a reduced rate.

How much wind is needed?

From 12-15 knots for beginners, 15-20 knots in optimal conditions. The Embat sea breeze in the Bay of Palma blows almost every afternoon from May to October, from the south-southwest.

Minimum age?

From 12 years old with enough weight (35 kg+) and height. Swimming ability required.

What if there’s no wind on the day of my lesson?

Reagendamos sin coste o devolvemos el importe. Without wind there’s no wingfoiling — and we won’t pretend otherwise.

Do you have gear for every weight?

Yes. Different wing sizes (3, 4, 5, 6 m) and foil setups. We match the gear to the rider and the day’s conditions.
