Yes, you can surf in Mallorca — and those who try it once come back for more. The Can Pastilla spot, right at the start of Palma Beach, is the local surfers’ meeting point whenever the sea brings waves. It works especially well in autumn and winter, though there are days with conditions in summer too.

We have been here for more than twenty years. We know when to head out and when to wait for the next day — and we say so straight.

How we teach

Learning to surf in Mallorca has one big advantage: waves are usually small and manageable, perfect for beginners. Our lessons follow a clear progression:

    Warm-up and technique on the sand: paddling, take-off, stance.First waves lying down: catching whitewater, feeling the board.Take-off on knees and feet: the moment of your first ride standing up.Surf on a formed wave: first turn, basic wave reading.
Knowing the spot is key. Before each session we brief you on tide, wave direction and the best entry point.

Repair and maintenance

Repair of your surf gear in our Can Pastilla workshop:

    Ding repair on boards (dings, blown decks, fin cracks).Leash plug replacement and fin boxes.Wetsuit patching: stitching, reinforcements in friction areas.

Frequently asked questions about surf in Mallorca

Are there really waves in Mallorca?
Yes, though not like on the Atlantic coast. The Bay of Palma works with south and east winds. Autumn and winter are the best seasons, but summer also has good days.
Can I learn to surf without being a strong swimmer?
You need some comfort in the water. For beginners we stay in shallow areas, but swimming is essential.
Minimum age for the courses?
From 6 years old with a suitable instructor. We have softboards in sizes appropriate for kids.
What if there are no waves on the day of my lesson?
We let you know in advance and reschedule at no cost. If you prefer, we can run a paddle surf or flat-water intro lesson.

Yes — we run camps and intensive weeks. Check the Campus section of the site.
