Why Waydoo and not another brand
We tested several brands. Lift is the pioneer, premium, very refined but doubles the price. Fliteboard is excellent but similar cost. Takuma plays mid-range. Waydoo has positioned itself as the best balance for recreation and school use. For us: reliability, Spanish support, and a gentle learning curve thanks to progressive power control.

Flyer One: ideal for beginners and recreation. Aluminium mast (impact-resistant), soft learning. Price: €8,000-10,000.
Flyer Evo: high end. Carbon mast (stiffer, more efficient), stronger motor, larger battery. For intermediate/advanced riders. Price: €11,000-14,000.
Who it’s for
- Anyone wanting to learn without spending €20,000.
- Rental and school centres for reliability and maintenance.
- Adults up to 110 kg.
- Riders who value silence and autonomy over peak speed.
Good
- Very gentle learning curve.
- Decent European technical support.
- Relatively accessible price in the segment.
- Modular: swap wings (more stable or faster).
Not so good
- Weight: 28+ kg with foil mounted. Carrying it is a workout.
- Peak speed lower than Lift Effect 4 or Fliteboard Pro.
- Some parts (propeller replacement) have long lead times from factory.
- Finish: good but not premium.
Total cost of ownership
- Purchase: €8,000-14,000.
- Estimated annual maintenance: €200-400.
- Storage: 1.80 m board + dismounted foil.
- Transport: needs SUV or large car.
Conclusion
If you’d buy your first eFoil with a €10,000 budget to learn, a Waydoo Flyer One is the most sensible choice. If you already have experience and want performance, look at Evo or jump to Lift Effect / Fliteboard Pro.
